Calvary Baptist Church

Dr. Micah Carter was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 17, 1984, to Dr. Barry and Valerie Carter. He spent his childhood in Alexander, Arkansas; Dumas, Arkansas; and Minden, Louisiana. Dr. Carter trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of seven and was baptized by the authority of Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church in Dumas, Arkansas. At the age of fifteen, he announced his call to preach. He graduated from Minden High School in 2002. He was licensed to preach in June 2000 by Whispering Pines Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana, and later ordained by WPMBC in March 2004. He enrolled that fall at the Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary (LMBIS). While attending LMBIS, he earned Bachelor of Theology, Master of Theology, and Doctor of Theology degrees.

On November 19, 2005, Dr. Carter married Dr. Julie Walker Carter (Ed.D.). The Lord has blessed their home with two children. Their son, Walker Benjamin Carter, was born on July 8, 2007, and their daughter, Tatum Grace Carter, was born on December 8, 2008. Dr. Carter recognizes that a godly wife is one of God's greatest blessings in ministry and continually thanks the Lord for Julie. In November 2015, he and Julie rejoiced together when both Walker and Tatum trusted Christ as their personal Savior.

God has blessed Dr. Carter with the privilege of serving as both a youth pastor and pastor. From 2004 to 2006, he served as youth and associate pastor of Eastside Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana. In 2006, the Lord led Dr. Carter and Julie to Hamburg, Arkansas, where he served as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church until 2008. Since 2008, he has served as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas.

Dr. Carter has also had the privilege of serving in various local, state, and national associational positions. He served as moderator of the 1st Columbia Association for six years and later served two terms as Moderator of the Arkansas State Association of Missionary Baptist Churches. He also had the privilege of serving two terms as President of the American Baptist Association. In addition to serving as pastor, Dr. Carter also serves as Dean of Students at the Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary. He counts it a great joy to serve the Lord, His people, and His churches.
 

Bro. Jackson Heflin was born in Edmond, OK, on July 10th, 2002, to Aaron and Becky Heflin, the grandson of Edwin and Nancy Heflin (Candler). His dad became the pastor at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Ardmore, OK, shortly after he was born. In 2009, God moved the family to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, OK, and that same year he was saved. God began preparing Jackson for a life of service and ministry as he led worship during Sunday Evening services, with the youth group worship team on Wednesday Nights, and at church camps (including Bogg Springs in Wickes, AR and Cedar Hills in Binger, OK). Jackson announced his calling to ministry in 2019 and began preaching at Landmark and other surrounding churches. 

After graduating High School in 2020, God led Jackson to Magnolia, AR, to pursue a degree in Instrumental Music Education at Southern Arkansas University (SAU). While there, he became a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was active at the Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship (MBSF) ministry on campus. A need soon arose for a worship leader at Calvary, and God had prepared Jackson to fill that role. He became Music Director at Calvary and also led worship at the MBSF during his time in college. In 2024, he became Associate Pastor as he took on various other responsibilities - including teaching with the youth group - and he graduated from SAU after the fall semester. Jackson has since continued to serve as Associate Pastor as he leads worship, teaches Sunday School, and fills in the pulpit as needed. He also works as a Band Director at the Magnolia School District. 

During his time in college, Jackson met Leah Morton - a fellow MBSF student and member at Calvary. They married on June 10, 2022, and have been blessed with two children. Elliott Nye Heflin, their son, was born on March 7, 2024. Their daughter, Bonnie Miles Heflin, was born on January 29, 2026. He continually thanks God for his family, who continue to be a tremendous blessing to him. 

Jackson is also honored to have served in various other capacities, including writing music for Vacation Bible School and serving as a Music Director for the American Baptist Association at the national level. 

Bro. Collin was born on November 3, 2003, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Doug and Marnie Gregg.  He grew up in Owasso, Oklahoma where his dad was a missionary and started Lifepoint Baptist Church.  One day Bro. Collin and his dad were out knocking on doors and telling people about Jesus.  That night Bro. Collin realized that he was lost and needed to be saved.  He ran upstairs to his room and prayed and trusted in Jesus as his Savior on June 5, 2010.

Right before he started high school, his family moved to Minden, Louisiana where his dad became the pastor at Calvary Baptist Church.  He graduated from Glenbrook High School in May 2022.  He decided to attend Southern Arkansas University to pursue a degree in coaching.  He got plugged into MBSF and Calvary.  On March 7, 2024, after a MBSF service, Bro. Collin surrendered to the call to preach.  In August 2024, Calvary voted to make Bro. Collin their youth intern where he would help with CBYF and MBSF.

In August 2025, Calvary voted to make Bro. Collin their MBSF Director.

Sis. Cindy Anglin is the secretary for Calvary Baptist Church.  At the age of 12, Cindy realized she was a sinner bound for hell.  On the way home from a Wednesday night youth meeting, in the car with the wonderful lady who took her to church each week, she confessed her sin to the Lord and asked for forgiveness and salvation.

Sis. Cindy is a native of the Magnolia area and graduated from Magnolia High School in 1991.  She married Robert L. Anglin, of Springhill, on August 11, 1996. They have a blended family of five children; Rusty, Brandon, Steven, Patricia and Hannah.     She has been a stay-at-home mom since the birth of her first child, which was a wonderful blessing. 

The family has been attending Calvary MBC since 2000 and faithful members since March of 2002.  They have watched as the three youngest children were saved and baptized here.  She began as secretary for Calvary in January of 2010.  Cindy asks for your prayers as she strives to do a great job for her Lord as secretary of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
