Bro. Micah Carter - Pastor

Bro. Micah Carter is the Pastor of Calvary MBC. Bro. Micah was saved at the age of 7 when he realized he was a sinner and must accept Christ's offering to be saved from Hell. Realizing he was a sinner and that Jesus Christ was the only way to salvation, he bowed on his knees and confessed Christ as his personal Savior.

In June, 2000, Bro. Micah felt the undeniable burdening of the Holy Spirit calling him to preach the gospel message. He again bowed to his knees and surrendered his life to the Lord's Work at Bogg Springs Baptist Camp.

On November 19, 2005, Bro. Micah married his wife, Julie Walker Carter. They have had two additions to their home since that day. Their son, Walker Benjamin Carter, was born on July 8, 2007. Their daughter, Tatum Grace Carter, was born on December 8, 2008.

God has blessed Bro. Micah with the privilege to work in both the youth pastor and pastor positions. Bro. Micah and Sis. Julie are both from Minden, LA. They have done church work in both Minden, LA, and Hamburg, AR. Bro. Micah also serves on the Arkansas State Missionary Committee of the American Baptist Association (ABA) of Churches.

Bro. Micah came to Calvary from Hamburg, AR, in August, 2008. Both he and his family request your prayers as they strive to serve the Lord here in Magnolia.

Evan Blackford - MBSF/Music Director

Evan Blackford is the MBSF Director at Calvary. Evan and his wife Katherine serve on the Southern Arkansas University campus ministering to students and faculty through this college ministry. Evan was saved at the age of 6 and followed the Lord in scriptural baptism.

Evan started seminary at Central Arkansas Baptist Bible Institute in Benton, AR in August 2003. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Languages in May 2007 and his Master’s Degree in Biblical Language in May 2009.

While attending seminary Evan was called to work as the Youth Director at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church in Hamburg, AR and served there from August 2007 to May 2010 when he was called to Calvary to serve as the MBSF Director.

Katherine Blackford - Director of Children's Ministry

Katherine Blackford is the Director of Children’s Ministry at Calvary. She was saved at the age of 6 and followed the Lord in scriptural baptism. Katherine grew up in an active Christian home where she learned the importance of family involvement in the church.

In May of 2009 Katherine graduated from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Family Studies. She married her husband, Evan Blackford, in May of 2009. Evan served as the Youth Director at Promise Land Missionary Baptist church in Hamburg, AR before moving to Magnolia in May of 2010 to serve as the MBSF Director here at Calvary.

Katherine has always been active in Children’s Ministry in the church and also with children’s programs in the community. She believes the most important part of a child’s spiritual development is the family. Katherine asks for your prayers as she works with the families of Calvary Church to build an active Children’s Ministry.

Bro. Jim Holdiness - Senior Outreach Minister

Bro. Jim Holdiness is the Senior Outreach Minister at Calvary MBC. At the age of 13, Bro. Jim realized that his soul was lost and attended a revival meeting. There, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and gave his heart to Jesus.

Bro. Jim enlisted in the Army National Guard and was in the Guard for 3 years. He then went into the Army for another 3 years. After he got out of the Army, he went back into the National Guard for 5 years.

In 1967, Bro. Jim started attending the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, AR. He graduated with a Bachelor of Theology in 1973.

While attending the Seminary, Bro. Jim accepted the call to be the pastor of Friendship MBC in Judsonia, AR. The church in Judsonia ordained Bro. Jim in 1970. Bro. Jim was there for 3 1/2 years. From there, the Lord led Bro. Jim to South Crossett MBC in Crossett, AR. He was there for 9 years.

The Lord then took Bro. Jim to Oklahoma. While in Oklahoma, Bro. Jim pastored the First Baptist MBC of Hayworth, OK. He was there for 3 1/2 years. Bro. Jim was then led to Unity MBC in Pine Bluff, AR. He was the pastor for 5 1/2 years. Bro. Jim was then led to Hepzibah MBC in Emerson, AR. Bro. Jim spent 12 1/2 years with the church in Emerson.

Bro. Jim's wife passed away on March 6, 1990. The Lord then led Bro. Jim to meet Mrs. Jo. Her husband had passed away. Bro. Jim married Jo Holdiness on September 15, 1990.

Bro. Jim came to Calvary MBC in June, 2004. Please be in prayer for Bro. Jim and Mrs. Jo as they serve the Lord while at Calvary MBC.

Cindy Anglin - Secretary

Sis. Cindy Anglin is the secretary for Calvary Baptist Church. At the age of 12, Cindy realized she was a sinner bound for hell. On the way home from a Wednesday night youth meeting, in the car with the wonderful lady who took her to church each week, she confessed her sin to the Lord and asked for forgiveness and salvation.

Sis. Cindy is a native of the Magnolia area and graduated from Magnolia High School in 1991. She married Robert L. Anglin, of Springhill, on August 11, 1996. They have a blended family of five children; Rusty, Brandon, Steven, Patricia and Hannah. She has been a stay-at-home mom since the birth of her first child, which was a wonderful blessing.

The family has been attending Calvary MBC since 2000 and faithful members since March of 2002. They have watched as the three youngest children were saved and baptised here. She began as secretary for Calvary in January of 2010. Cindy asks for your prayers as she strives to do a great job for her Lord as secretary of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
